6 Mar 2013 | 180 Views | admin
For her next, Anand L Rai’s Raanjhnaa, Sonam Kapoor has reportedly brushed up her acting skills and even gone to the extent of seeking inspiration from similar films for her role. A source close to the actor reveals that Sonam’s point of reference for the character she is playing is actor Jaya Bachchan’s act in the 1971 hit, Guddi. “The character that Sonam will play in the film is different from the ones she has played so far. Therefore, she wanted to make it look as convincing as possible. She shortlisted a few films and the character of Guddi was found to be the closest to what she was going to portray,” says the source. Sonam Kapoor is set to don a lawyer’s avatar
6 Mar 2013 | 160 Views | admin
Fashionista Sonam Kapoor is all set to play the role of a lawyer in the next YRF venture which is going to be directed by Nupur Asthana (of Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge fame). In this movie she is paired with Bollywood’s new entrant Ayushmann Khuranna.
Sonam Kapoor is very excited about this role. Source close to the actress said ” All the time, critics have applauded Sonam on her style statement not on her acting abilities. She wants to change that and she thinks this is the movie that will be a turning point in her career. That is the reason that she is working extra hard on this film and is devoting time to learn the mannerisms and body language of the lawyers.” It is also said that she will be meeting few lawyers in specific to understand and observe their general way of doing things. 6 Mar 2013 | 153 Views | admin
Yes indeed, Sonam Kapoor AKA the ‘Fashionista’ of Bollywood has transformed her look in her upcoming film Ranjhanaa (co-starring Why This Kolaveri Di’s very own Dhanush!) in order to suit the character she’s playing!
About Sonam’s new look, producer Krishika Lulla states, “Sonam has always been synonymous with runway fashion, but in Ranjhanaa we needed her to play a simple girl with middle-class ambitions. Her Indian look in films so far too has had a touch of international styling. However, in Ranjhanaa, she was professional and got into the character, whether it was donning a simple kurti or a uniform. She completely gave in and transformed into the character Zoya.” Read more...

Run women run, says Sonam Kapoor
6 Mar 2013 | 141 Views | admin
The DNA i can women’s Marathon is a superb way of combining two very good issues. One is, of course, the education of the girl child, and the other is fitness. And I believe that both go hand-in-hand. Health amenities and education are the basic necessities and rights of every woman.
The root cause of a lot of issues is illiteracy, not just among women, but across the board. Literacy among women is important because a woman educated is a family educated. As the backbone of the family, an educated mother will always make sure that every child in the family is schooled too. It essentially helps families break out of the circle of illiteracy that’s been continuing for ages. Participating in this marathon that supports such causes is truly noble. Read more...
