It’s Sonam Kapoor’s birthday today (9th June) and the actress hopes to celebrate it with a big reunion with her school friends at home.

The actress, for whom birthdays are always a special day to celebrate, reveals that she and her school friends are getting together at her place for a lunch session. But the big family bash may have to wait as dad Anil Kapoor is in Turkey shooting for Race 2. “For me, birthdays are always very special and they would always be huge celebrations at home. I felt like a princess on the day even more,” she says.

The actress who’s just returned from her Cannes outing, after which she even attended an event in Las Vegas reveals that she’s yet to come out of the excitement she felt attending one of the most prestigious film festivals. “It was like I was living a fairy tale and now I am still not out of it, thanks to my birthday,” she adds.

Talking about her experiences there, she adds that being amidst so much talent was an extraordinary feeling. “There’re so many talented names around, not just actors but filmmakers that it’s amazing. But not just the red carpet, the photo sessions I did before and with some of the best photographers was one of the best experiences ever,” recalls Sonam. As for the birthday, Sonam says that she can’t wait to celebrate it in a bigger way once her dad returns. “For me the celebrations begin in my head several days before and go on for much later too,” adds the actor.

At present the actress who’s prepping up for her role in Ranjhana that she will begin shooting for in July end, it’s a break period of sorts.

“I am doing workshops for the film everyday, but I have taken off two days for my birthday and I will just be indulging myself to the hilt,” Sonam enthuses.
