It is officially, OFFICIAL. Shahid and Sonam Kapoor starrer Mausam will be premiering at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.


Co-Director of the Toronto International Film Festival, Cameron Bailey announced this morning tweeting "The rumours are true! Coming to #TIFF11: the world premiere of Pankaj Kapoor's MAUSAM." Mausam will be featured as a special presentation at this year's festival.


The much awaited film, an epic love story spanning the four seasons of love starring the first time pairing of Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor already has audiences worldover smitten, with it's earthy music and striking promos. So much so there already is a term for fanatics of the film even before its release, 'Mausambees'.


Mausam fever will hit a fever pitch in the city as the film's leading pair, 'Shasha' (Shahid) and 'Sona' (Sonam) as the duo are fondly called by their admirers are expected to be in attendance at the premiere alongside veteran actor, director of the film and Shahid's father - Pankaj Kapoor.


Our sources tell us exclusively that September 14 is the chosen date for the film's premiere in Toronto.


Receiving a grand reception and red carpet treatment, Mausam would be Shahid's second film after Dil Bole Hadippa to premiere at the festival while Sonam would be a first timer on the Toronto red carpet.


Always the trendsetting fashionista one can only wonder in amazement what Sonam and stylist sister Rhea Kapoor have planned for Toronto. Earlier this year Sonam made stellar appearance hitting Cannes couture spot on, as she walked the carpet as Brand Ambassador for Loreal.


Toronto has been the hotspot for Bollywood frenzy of epic proporations this year, with the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) also held in the city at the end of June.


Releasing in cinemas worldwide on 16th September, the Mausam team also has promotional events lined up in London and Dubai.
