Actress Sonam Kapoor’s recent bout of illness may have rendered her out of action for some time. But now that she’s returned to the acting scene with a vengeance, there’s just no stopping her. So, now Sonam — who has films like Thank You, Mausam and the remake of The Italian Job in her stylish kitty — is shooting back-to-back trying to make up for lost time.

But she isn’t complaining. “I love this hectic pace of work,” she says, about juggling shooting for her upcoming films, commercials as well as posing for magazine covers, which she seems to be doing by the dozen these days. Of course, she loves all of it.

But it’s quality over quantity for Sonam. “I am very choosy about my roles, and I think I am blessed, since it’s a privilege to be able to choose or reject roles as an actor,” she says. For now, Sonam also doesn’t have a favourite genre of films yet, though she’s most identifiable with romantic comedies.

“From comedy to action, and from romcoms to drama, as an actor I want to go through all of these emotions on-screen,” says Sonam, who’s game to try her hand at all options out there.

Having put the not-so-flattering comments for her last film Aisha aside, the actor’s now looking forward to her roles in forthcoming films, which reflect her eclectic choice. “It’s fun to play characters that you also relate to personally, but are so different from each other,” is her take on the characterisation of the lead actors in the film. She’s also equally kicked about being paired opposite versatile actors.

Ask her which actor she thinks she looks the best with on-screen and she brushes it aside with, “I think I’ve been appreciated with almost all actors I’ve worked with so far, so it’s hard to name one.”

But more than making waves as an actor, it’s Sonam’s very admired fashion sense that’s always been talked about and she’s already being hailed as a style diva of sorts. Point that out and Sonam just laughs it off. “As an actor I obviously dress up the way my role requires me to, but yes, style is a very individual statement and there are no compromises that I make there!”

She’s been called sexy on numerous ocassions so we can’t resist but want to know what’s sexy to her? “Sexy to me is being a woman who loves her feminity. I think women who are proud and confident of their bodies, know their strengths and weaknesses, and have the right attitude, that’s what makes them sexy,” she says.

As for herself? “Yes, I’m all of the above,” she smiles.
