Hello everyone! If you are a regular visitor of S-K.Net forums, you would know few weeks ago, we had a chance to submit questions for an interview with Sonam. Many of the forum members submitted some really great questions and we had a hard time narrowing down the list to give to Sonam. Here are the questions picked by some of you and Sonam's answers.

Also a huge thank you to Sonam for taking time from her busy schedule to answer our questions...



Sonam: Hi guys I'm sorry I took time in getting back to you'll. But have
been terribly caught up in a lot of work. But seasons greetings and
much love to all of you.


Reena: When did you first realize that you had a fan following and how
did you initially react?

Hi Reena, the first time I realised I had a fan following was due to
this fan group that my sister discovered on facebook. It was started by Sheeru Singh who happens to be dad's fan. I was excited flattered
and very very touched. At the same time I realised I had a responsibility towards them as they were youngsters my age and my sister's age and in some way I set an example. Don't want to disappoint you guys ever and the only way to do that is be honest and fun!!!!!

Fizzwizz/Fary: How much your life changed after entering Bollywood? Do
you feel acting has made you a different person?

My life at a superficial level has changed alot but since I'm born and brought up in the film industry my family life and friends react to it
like they would to any other job. And yes with experience and time and
first hand experience in this industry I have grown and learnt a lot and I'm not as green as I use to be.

Fizzwizz: From the new generation, who would you like to work with most & why?

Hahaha Fary thats a tough one... all of them are highly talented but
I would love to work with Imran (Khan) and Ranbir (Kapoor) again. Harman (Baweja) is a very good dancer, so would like to do a dance film with him.

Iksha: How much does commercial success and critical acclaim mean to you?

Hi Iksha. Commercial success is important because the producers invest so much money into a film as they believe in the product and at the
end of the day it is a business and its success is measured by its
commercial gains, and its nice to know your viewers and fans want to
see your work. Critical acclaim is important to me as its always nice
to be accepted by your peers and industry but at the same time neither
of the two should be a measure of your true worth.....

Iksha: I read that you love writing and often write short-stories. So
what are your inspirations for writing and if you were asked to write
a script of a film, what genre would the film be of?

Iksha, writing to me is a cathartic process, and I would love to write
a script. I would love to write romance.

Adity: You said that you are taking things slowly and that you don't
need to do films for survival. But considering that heroines have such
a short life span in Bollywood and have limited scope of showcasing
their talent due to male-dominance and a lot of it is about looks and
hit films, many of your fans are concerned that this might hurt you in
the long run. What do you have to say to them?

Hi Adity! First of thank you for all the love and support. And I would
just ask my fans to believe in me and be patient. I want to change the
theory the industries perspective towards actresses. And remember the
tale of the hare and the tortoise.

Fari: What has been your happiest and worst memory in your career so far?

Hi Fari... Thank you for organising this. I think it was the great fan
book you sent me, I;ve never been as touched. I got it in Jaipur while
shooting for Delhi Six and if any of you all like my work in it, it's
because of the encouragement and support I garnered from this book.
Worst memory?.. Not yet actually.. They all have been awesome.

Fari: Who was a more difficult character to play: Sakina or Bittu? You
once said Sakina is the total opposite of you, is Bittu more like you?

You Know both characters were equally tough. But Bittu is closer to my heart.

Frayy11: In an era of remakes, which is the one Anil Kapoor movie
you'd like to remake?

Lamhe all the way or Mr. India.

Prathna: Post Saawariya, you must be over flooded with offers, so what
is the sort of thing that you look for in scripts that you'll like to
do.

A good script and good people to work with. Will not work without a bound script.

Prathna: If someone called you a starkid and said that you had
supposedly gotten it easy in the industry what would your argument be
back to them?

Prathna, I would absolutely agree with them. But at the same time I
will tell them my dad had nothing to do with my first two films.


Manpreet: If your life was a movie, what would it be titled?

Chronicles of the mad Kapoor household.

Bluebreeze22: You seem to be such an avid reader, is there any book or
piece that you liked so much that you wish could be made into a movie
with you in it?

Hahahahahhahhaa... This answer is a double edged sword. But I'll do it. Jane Austen's Emma.

Rumu: If you had the chance to be a part of 90's movies how would you feel?

I'd love to. I loved Darr, Deewane, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, DDLJ, Andaaz Apna Apna...I grew up on those films, it would be a dream come
true....


Meena A: How would you say going to a school like UWC developed you
as a person?

It made me an aware and responsible world citizen.

Sabsan: What makes you happy?

Working, family, friends, and my dogs and books.

Prathna: How easy do you think it is to get carried away by stardom
and how do you keep yourself rooted firmly to the ground?

My sister keeps me rooted. She is my anchor and conscience.

Adity: What is it about "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" that
prompts you to read it repeatedly?

It's the most romantic book I've ever read.. with depth.

Manpreet: What was the most memorable family holiday you had in your
childhood and why?

Rome with my family.. I love Italy...

Reena: Name 3 items from your wardrobe that you can not live without.
ummm thats tough...
